My group and I had chosen to create my advert
on headphone, because I believed it was a good idea and it had a good market
that I would focus on. The targat audience we am aiming for was people between
the ages 16-30, as students are the once that listen to music when doing work but
also, parents that go, pick up their children. The group agrees with this
because we recognise that students work with music from experience. The style
we will be using for the advert will be humour as more people will be able to
remember and get the audience engagaf.
After we had to to do reseach on target
audience, we needed to see if target audinec would buy the product. We carried
out surveys online on Survey moneys . The response was ggod, as most people wh
aswernd were female, this showd us that we will be aiming at female. It also shows
us that audinec really don’t care about braning, only sound quilty of the
headphones. Than we carried out a focus groups asking question of how much they
would buy the product and what features they would like to see on it. The
reposne back was goo. 4 out5 people said that they would spend arounf £50 on
the headphones.
Creating the pre-production
documents, was not that hard. They were very simple and straight forwards. The
had same problems wit o some document, like the storyboard. Wit this I had to
creat the scecn in my head, which was esay. The hard part was drwing out, I
could not get it to the right way I wanted to be. Another part that was a
problwm was that I had to thinks of how every shot and film techniques is going
it fit together and how it will look when it is completed. But as we go along
the process i throught od the how it will fit there and then.
The
content of the advert will go like this. The advert will start off with people
revising in black and white because it is emphasising the tiredness. After The
audience can hear the music slightly, goes in and out of music so that we can
see the different between the tedious revision and the liveliness of the person
listening to the music. Than the people revising will then suddenly be able to
hear the music – become colourful, potential dancing/flash mob. It then goes
back to the tedious revision and the one person listening to music.
Whe we started filming we had
some problem with timing. Some cast members did not show up. So one day cast
member did not show up, so we had to film another secen. The next day the
prevoiws cast members shows up, but he forgets the headphones, so we had to
canlce that day. We waited at least a week to sating shooting because of the
timeing of cast members were wrong. When we started shooting, we made up
somthings as we went along. We had some problems with the filming, like the
lighting was to dark and we hade to re film a scecn again to make it look like
it was the same time and day.
Editing the advert was the hard
bit, because thery are some many shot, you can’t really tell which one’s which.
The first thing I did was upolade the the secen, then I had to put them in
order. I used my storyboard to help me, but we were missing some of the shots,
so I had to create a different way to mek the advert fit. After that I added
sounf to the advert, but had to find something that was not copyrighted, so the
advert does not get band. I used the sound from NCS, as they do not have any
copyrighted sounds. With the seecific effects, I just added fade to the beggini,
middle and end. Bised that there were not pronlmes with the editiong.
After I complete m,y advet, the next stage
was for me to get a focugoru ready for a screening of my advert. I had to ask some
people around the class if they would like to particapty with the scrennign. I
had to create five question to ask the audience about my advert and recodind
the convsation. The response back was good. For example one of the question was
“wpuld yt buy the product after wachting the advert”. The response was good. ^Yes
because the headset do look good, but no because realistically is the sound
quality of the headphones may not be that good.” I agree with this because I
could have made a scene of the headphones close up, showing the sound quality.
Another question is “Would you remember the
advert” again the response of this question is god and I agree with it. ^Yes
definitely, due to the music being very catchy; it makes it very eay to get it
stuck in my hed and remember the advert by it”. The focus group went
well, hower, despite the good that comes out of the focus, groups, thee are
also some negatives. One of them include the time and effort it takes to
organise a focus group. This is particularly a big issue as many people may not
feel comfortable talking out loud or being completely honest as they may feel
it might offend people.
After carrying out my reseach on
my advert, I am happy with the advert, as it has posstive feeback and, the
audience would recomede it to their drineds. The advert was intstring
realistic, as it was filmed in school. Over my advert is a sueecee even through
I could have made some improvement to it.
